Updated Pics of our "New" Morph

AandBReptiles Aug 22, 2006 11:03 PM

Hi everyone. Here our a few post first shed and first meals pics of the new morph that we popped out a little over a week ago. They're pretty neat looking. Definitely not the most extreme thing out there but we're keeping our fingers crossed for a cool super! They have a really cool iridescence to them that shows up pretty well in the black background pictures. Hope you enjoy them!

New Morph (right) with Normal

Thanks for looking!

What did you breed to produce your "new" morph? It looks a lot like a yellowbelly to me, but with serious granite speckling on the sides. Was the yellowbelly gene at all involved or was this a spontaneous creation from two normals or simple recessives, etc.

Best of luck with it.

I think it was Stephan from Germany who posts on the classifieds who had a group of CH that he brought to Daytona. From what I remember they looked exactly like that. Shawn

Thanks Joe. We actually produced two of these animals from a female that had a similar overall appearance. While we thought she was cool, we didn't really expect her to be genetic. I agree that they look a lot like really dark yellow bellies from the top but they actually have dark speckley belly, which I have yet to get a good photo of.

So at this time the look to be a dominant or codom gene- we'll have to do more breeding to find out. We've talked to a lot of people who have said that the look like Sables and we do agree with that, so there's a good chance that when we breed them together, we'll pop out super sables. It would be nice if they were something new and different though The waiting game ensues...

Thanks for the interest!

Nice! (Are the bellys clear on the center scales only?)
I have a female here that is somewhat similar. She gets to meet a het-ivory this year.Which will hopefully produce something cool(while i wait for her sons to grow up).

Best of luck with them!
