blizzard vs. patternless

lefty82 Aug 22, 2006 11:11 PM

Could somebody explain the difference between blizzards and patternless geckos - both genotype and pheontype differences? There is an adult gecko for sale at the petstore and I can't tell what it is. It is kind of a grayish brown color with no markings. It is not particularly beautiful, but kind of cute.

what you saw at the store is a blizzard leopard gecko. They turn greyish as they mature, and some have solid black eyes. These geckos are truly leucistic. Patternless geckos, are albinos that have no pattern. They look "cleaner" than straight blizzards because they are almost pure white, yellow and pink (some with partial carroting on their tails). Blazing blizzards are more similar to these patternless albinos in appearance since b.b.'s have less grey than regular blizzards and have a lighter skin tone. Hope this helps.
