Does anyone have a rough estimate of how many Spider crosses have been produced?

Albino Spider
Butter Spider
Cinnamon Spider
CoralGlow Pastel Spider
Faded Albino Spider
Fireball Spider
Ghost Pastel Spider
Ghost Spider
Lemon Pastel Spider
Lemon Spider (BHB's 'Lemon' co-dom or dom X Spider)
Lesser Platinum Spider
Pastel Lesser Platinum Spider
Mojave Spider
PinStripe Spider
Pastel Spider
Pastel PinStripe Spider
Piebald Spider
Genetic Stripe Spider
Woma Spider
Pastel Woma Spider
Enchi Pastel Spider (StingerBee)
Phantom Spider (using NERD's new Phantom/Mojave line)
Super Pastel Spider

Graziani's Spiders het pied LOOK like a cross. Have to love how the pied gene shows up in het animals sometimes.

As well, Camlon has a fully-striped Spider. ('Strider')

There may be more. Those are just all of the crosses I have photos of.

Someone please correct me if I've made any errors in my above list or forgotten to mention any crosses. Thanks.

Great job, I think Pewter spiders & Pastel Axanthic Spiders were on display in Daytona as well as some more Woma X spider X Lesser combos that looked incredible.....dark pink with little to no pattern.

BackBeat Aug 23, 2006 12:57 PM

Yeah, I have pics of the Pewter Spider and Axanthic KillerBee. I compiled that list from my 'Designer Combos' folder and neglected to check the main Ball folder.

Between the vast amount of morphs/combos and a desire for organization, it's enough to give a photo collector OCD. hahaha

Can you post a pic of the Pewter Spider?

Thanks

Check out the thread above this one (2006 NRBE Photos).

Click the link to see all of Celia's wonderful photos and scroll down to the section with NERD's animals and you'll see the Pewter Bee.

Yeah, what LOSER made so many of those awful mutations...

I think there is also the Axanthic Bumble Bee, Axanthic Killer bee ( Axanthic Super Pastel Spider), Pewter Bee ( Bumble Bee Cinnamon), Woma Tiger Spider Lesser (without the hidden gene showing)

...I think that may be it for the next hour or two...

I did whiff on the Axanthic Spider this far among others....

Yes, I forgot to mention a couple even though I DO have pics.

Take some time off from soul harvesting and let some of us Daytona-deprived folks see photos of the Axanthic Bumblebee and Woma Tiger Spider Lesser.

'Without the hidden gene showing'.....??
Are you talking about a hidden gene in the Spider morph? A hidden gene in the Lesser morph? Or a hidden gene in the Woma Tiger morph? You're making my head spin. I'm a drummer, afterall; please go slow.

Congrats on producing soooooooooooo many designer combos first.
At this rate you'll never be able to bring the Photo Gallery on the NERD site up to date. Pace yourself, Lucifer.

There is a NEW and VERY improved site being built behind NERD's site right now...long time in the making but it is coming!

As far as the pics..... they will need to shed first!

The hidden gene thing is with the Woma and Lesser....

No hidden gene in the Spider as I know.

Pretty funny, the whole hidden gene thing... I don't get what is going on or why but I will tell you it is making some AWESOME stuff for NERD!

To set the record straight.... Only some of the Woma Tigers carry it just as only some of the Lesser Platties from Daddy Platty seem to have it... so if you get offspring from a non hidden gene carrying animal then you don't have the "hidden" genes to work with! So to all of the people out there breeding their snakes and NOT getting what I am getting..... you may be missing or you may not have the hidden gene in one or the other.

I am enjoying the hidden gene thing and it is reproducing itself as striped animals.

I know someone like a certain Jeremy "Chubby" Pebble just made the Woma x Mojave cross......

I don't know if it did anything crazy but we should know soon.

holy ...!
So it appears that daddys aren't homozygous for the hidden gene then?...wow...Makes me wish i had a wt x pd clutch cooking(yea,i'm dreaming again).

As far as Daddy Platty...

I meant that the babies from Daddy Platty would have it and only some of the offspring of "those" offspring would have it.

My male Platty aparently has "this" hidden gene while not all of its children may.

Mind you, this is only in theory but it seems correct.

Yes, people will find that not all woma balls have the hidden gene thing. It is in my group and I am learning which ones are making the weird offspring with it.

Ahh..so it seems then that it is a simple recessive deal then after all.Which would make the grandchildren of a daddy 50%ers.

I wonder if it is a new hypo line...or perhaps even a previously existing one?

i'll shaddup now

Actually, Daddy Platty( Ummm... Gaa Gaa Goo Goo) exhibits the "hidden" gene and all of his kids should carry it in some form.... they may even show it but it may be so subtle we don't see it. It could be simple recessive or incomplete dominant...blah blah..

These offspring of the Platty carry it in theory....their offspring are 50% poss gene carriers if this is how it works. The problem is why is it linked to the mutation itself.....if it was another gene it would exhibit intself as an odd normal or something to that effect. I don't know the answer or if it is linked to the mutation and will only show itself when linked.... we know that "normal" littermates may carry this hidden gene that make platties when bred back to a known gene carrier. It is weird stuff to say the least.

The Woma Tiger seems to do the same thing...... there is quite a bit of mystery to that one!

All I know is that I can make all sorts of cool stuff with those two mutations and their hidden gene reaction. Now I am adding other mutations on top to see how retarded I can make things get.

Just need a bit of time.
