Hello Herb,

So much as I hate to say it, I believe the baby within has expired, though I could be (and hope) that I am wrong.
Personally, I would carefully open the egg with a pair of suture scissors, cuticle scissors will work well too, and should you find a live neonate within, carefully remove it, tie the umbilicus off with dental floss and cut it below the knot. It will help to place the baby on a substrate of slightly moist paper towels and a good hide.
Generally, the umbilicus will detach on its own, but on occasion will require you to remove such and this is important as the umbilicus, in some cases, is absorbed back into the snake and the dental floss could become impacted in such cases.
Anyhow, just my .02 and I certainly hope my initial thought is off base..

Best of luck to you and congratulations on the hatchlings,

Jeff
