Just wondering why a female spider cost more than a male. You can grow a male up in under a year for breeding and he will take on more than one female, and produce spiders within the first year.

Female spiders actually cost less then the males for that exact reason. Sence there is no super form of the spider theres not a big need for the female like in other morphs. I have only seen 1 or 2 people sale females for more and im not sure why.
Hope that helped for you.

They sell them for more because the spider prices are too low as it is and the value of the females are far higher for the crosses that you can make. To a beginning breeder this is hard to accept but to a non hobbiest the females are always worth more to keep then to sell low.

Exactly.....If people aren't going to pay a reasonable price for a Spider female , why not keep her and have her as a breeder rather then a normal . Someone may buy a spider female one year(low), and a few years later come into some $ and buy one of the rarest morphs out there and ...BAM...produce the first Spider combo of THAT morph .Look how many combos feature the Spider , in my opinion , they are just as valuable to combos as Yellow bellie are starting to be , My humble opinion.
THEY ARE MY FAVORITE MORPH( the 1st morph to look NOTHING ,like a normal...in pattern)

Just me, but I personally thought that clowns were the first pattern mutation proved inheritable in balls.
Wonder if anyone could clarify this.
Thanks,
Dan
I could be wrong but I think Spiders and Clowns were both proven out in 1999 Pieds were proven out in 97.
