Breeding Question

malesh02 Aug 23, 2006 10:44 AM

Hi everyone. I have a female albino corn who is roughly 2 years old, 40ish inches long and thick. I've thought about breeding her but am curious if she is of proper size. Also, if I do choose to breed her, which type of male should I breed her to?

Thanks in advance for the help. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

T

She is of breeding size - although it's probably too late to get any eggs from her this year. As far as offspring, if your snake isn't het for anything, your offspring choices are limited to visual normals (hets) and albinos.

Breeding anything to her that isn't albino or het for albino will give you all normal-looking babies. A snow might be a good choice, as it will be a different colored snake and breeding it to an albino will give you all albinos (het for anerythristic). If your snake is het for anerythristic (a lot of corns are), then you'd get albinos with some anery babies as well.

If you breed your amel to a snow, and your amel happens to also be het for anerythrism, you'd get amels and snows...not amels and aneries.
