I need a way to heat a rubbermaid sweater box that is approximatley 4ft long. I was wondering if I used an adhesive heat pad with a rheostat to regulate temps if it would be safe to use on a plastic sweater box?

Should work BUT, the heat tape manufacturer says to only use with e thermostat. That is the safest way to go!

I used a standard heat pad for you back and set it on low. It did not melt the plastic and it held a good 110-115 degrees. I did end up using a timer since I did not have any other way to control the heat at that point.
But basically the heat tape and the thermostat should be fine like I said it was 110-115 degrees with out melting.
