I just recieved a male and a femaile b. alvarius. How do i milk them without hurting them? when i squeeze the glands, it seems like im hurting them, and no venom comes out. What am i doing wrong?

unfortunately what you did wrong began before you even bought your toads, when you decided it would be a good idea to try DMT, the best thing you can do is give the toads to somebody who can care for them properly and doesnt want to milk them so they can ingest their poison. i dont know what you've heard about these toads but smoking dmt in general isnt a good idea especially if your a young person which im guessing you are because your trying to milk toads for drugs and its an especially bad idea if its from a toads poison glands as this contains other toxins that pollute the experience and can harm you but more importantly the toad. "milking" them causes stress and is bad for their health, if you are squeezing their glands and no poison comes out then it is either because they arent scared of you because your some stoner rookie trying to trip his balls off or because it takes them about six months to recover fully from the last time they were milked. I strongly suggest you re-think taking dmt but if you are set on it then you are less likely to harm yourself by extracting it from a plant, if you are determined to abuse your toads and smoke dmt then make sure you dry the poison first so you dont die but to re-iterate DO NOT DO THIS the best thing for you is to put these toads for sale on the classified section, stop taking drugs, its not worth it, work hard at school, get a job, get some life experience, or next time you want to get high try punching yourself in the face instead, it'll blow your mind. one love you rank amateur.
i think you owe the members of this board an apology for animal abuse and corrupting us with your terrible crimes.
p.s. sorry if all of that was a bit harsh im sure many people have been where you're at just now but dmt is not a good idea and you have the opportunity to benefit from other peoples experience, and its really just not cool to hurt animals.

hillnotheel shouldn't have said it at all. i dont approve of drug use or hurting animals, i thought i made that pretty clear in my post but i feel that if somebody is set on doing something then you may aswell advise them on the way that is least likely to cause them harm or toads harm for that matter.

people like you are the reason the toads cost so damn much. it's not fair that people who actually want this toad as a pet to love and care for are stuck paying close to $100 because people feel the need to abuse them for their own selfish uses. Please do just give the toads to someone else and do something else... just don't hurt the toads

Although it wasnt the greatest idea to post this on this site. U are not in the wrong and I know that you do not have any ill intentions pertainging to animals otherwise you would have gone ahead and milked the toad regardless of its well being. THe point is animals are great, yes and we should have no intentions of harming them unless we are going to eat them. So these tree huggers can [bleep] their goats all they want slaughter cows to partake of their flesh, then when someone spouts of on milking a toad raise a huge freaken uproar. I am not condoning eating cows, I love meat. But drop me a line and I can better explain things to you.

Ok this is new to me, My dad allways made fun of me for keeping toads as pets. I had allways known people did this to them but not as to how they did that. I can't fathom harming a pet for that. Off and on I have keept toads for most of my life and can only think of a handfull of times they have given off their toxin. As a kid I have had them in my mouth(I was 10 and was trying to gross out girl i knew) and still no toxin, amazingly the little guy did not pee on me either.
