The first post posted itself, and I wasn't ready
It rained pretty much all week and the temps were too cold after dark, but the last two days were dry and fair herpin'. We also herped west of Phoenix one night and cruised the valley near Rio Rico in the rain one night.

20. Various invertebrates...saw dozens of interesting inverts. Some highlights include many tarantulas, scorpions, centipedes, large moths, beetles of all kinds, wasps, giant black bees, and in G.V. one morning woke up to swarms of red ants with wings flying quite high into the air.
I'd like to mention that meeting people is very interesting and fun too. Gary Nafis stopped for a chat on his way to find the elusive Sonoran Green Toad. Jim Hitchner and his friend Lou were here for several days and we got up into the Ritas together. I met Rich L. again. Also met some new folks cruisin in the Ritas, a couple from Tucson, Rhode Island, Maryland, Los Angeles, Kansas City, and St. Louis.
For the most part we didn't have much luck. The weather has been terrible with the heavy rains. But some luck was had by the boys in the mtns. A couple green rats were caught along with a few blacktails and four or five tiger rattlers. Along with the few rattlers I saw and the three lyres and the mtn. king, I only kept a couple for photos, then release. I did keep a pair of desert kings for a breeding colony, however.
That's about it until I get home and can post some pics. Tonight's our last night and I'm still hoping to get a green rat, although I think I'm just jinxed on those in the Santa Ritas. Til later then....
PS: AZ Game and Fish stopped by for a chat one night, and send their regards
They were very nice, but remember to keep everything legal in order to hunt here. There is a new brochure out on the Reptile and Amphibian hunting regulations, btw. A license is a must also.
