I think I'll be glad.....

crimsonking Aug 24, 2006 07:22 PM

..I kept this guy and the matching female.
They're the ones Bruce Means said he thought would be nice as adults.
Just shed and ate minutes ago..

I haven't kept any of my meansi babies in some time.
Hope they come out as nice as I think they should...

No offense but that's one of the most uneducated statements I've ever seen on here. Bruce gets out in the field more than probably most of the people on here combined. LOL!

crimsonking Aug 24, 2006 09:38 PM

Geez Sean, I think Dave knows that too, don't you? Was just kidding around and giving a compliment there I think....but thanks for your input.
That snake was for Bruce and he said he wasn't at home enough of the time to care for the little ones much these days..(No doubt in the field)so I kept it for myself..
Did you guys ever get any eggs from yours this year? I thought you said maybe a female was gravid? I can't remember....

Hey Mark, I don't know Dave and had no idea if he was joking. Didn't see any smilies or anything so I figured he was serious. I guess unless you know the person, you don't really know how they're coming across on forums unless they make it clear.

Anyway, no I didn't produce any Apalachicola Kings this year. As much as I would have liked to, at least I found a few more and should have some clutches next year. Several of the females I found are eating like crazy! Makes me happy especially since the very first King I found out in the ANF is finally eating mice without any scenting whatsoever. Seems like in the past several months, he's totally turned around and decided he can't eat enough!

Hi Sean, I am Dave Boyle live from Syracuse NY. Nice to make your acquaintance. I have been perusing this forum since about '00, keep gobs of brooksi phase of floridana (BPOF)kingsnakes, pinesnakes and aspire to keep indigos. I even have a B.S. in environmental forest biology BUT ALWAYS defer to guys that get out in the field , have more/better/equal/less but different captive experience or are able to express their ideas in a well thought out manner. I usually avoid the hair pulls and sandbox fights on the forum because, well, i don't take this all too seriously. if it were peer reviewed and edited, that would be different. 15 years of cardiac surgery o.r. tech nician (the job) experience puts much into perspective. I also avoid the smilies because they are not my style.
and i think mark has a few things to teach dr means, hahaha...

peace

Nice to meet you too Dave. And in the future, if you want someone else to know you're joking, smilies come in handy. May not be your style but comes in very useful when you're on a forum and want to express how you're coming across. Otherwise, people that don't know you might take it the wrong way. Nice "hahahaha" at the end there. It let me know you were joking.

daveb Aug 24, 2006 10:09 PM

no offense taken but i wasn't referring to anyone in particular. note i didn't mention ANY names, sorry if i mislead you. and if you think that was the most uneducated thing on this forum, you need to read more posts!!! hahahaha!

Well, you were referring to Mark's post about Bruce Means so you didn't have to name any names. And I agree with you about uneducated posts on here. I've read enough over the years. Most of the time, I just don't reply to those.

justinian2120 Aug 24, 2006 09:59 PM

what do you get if you breed a meansi like that to,say,a goini like mine?
