They are basically the same. It's the same trait, with the exact same potential. They just have a different look. In my opinion, blacks aren't attractive at all by themselves but they make way better looking pewters and darker supers. It's just all about your own personal preference which one is better.

They are very close related the only difference is the super form. Blacks make a black patternless super and cinnies make a brown patternless super. It all depends what you want

Have they been around long enough that the two have been crossed. Are they compatible and make a super?

...the two lines are compatible in producing a Super Black/Cinnamon.

Basically think of it this way, the Cinnamon Pastel is akin to a Blonde(insert whatever your favorite normal pastel line is here), and the Black Pastel(insert other favorite pastel line here) is like a Lemon, breed the two together and you get a Super Pastel, that has ancestry from both lines.

This is an example of alleles. Two seperate occurrences of basically same trait, but coming from two different distinguishable lines. More than likely the patternless alleles are the same, or very very close, and it is the other genetics involved in the seperate lines that give us the different patterning and color.
