In my experience, sinaloans and nelson's tend be fairly calm as hatchlings and stay that way throughout their lives. Black milks are very calm in my experience. they tend to get a little larger than the rest of the milks. I've never kept mexican milks, but I hear they are pretty calm too.

Peublans and hondurans can be a little skittsh as hatchlings but will generally calm down as they put on some size with frequent handling. Both are very popular and common, so they make nice captives as well, but its those early months of their lives that you have to have a little patience.

If you're just getting into milks, you can't go wrong with a sinaloan or nelson's in my opinion!

Good luck,

Dave

I agree with dniles. I've been keeping Nelson's for over a decade and they're just as calm and easy to keep as a corn snake.

I agree that nelsoni are quite calm, although babies can be very skittish, and that applies to many snakes.

I think Mexican milks are amoung the calmest. Babies can be flighty, but adults are super calm. You just don't see many on the classifieds for some reason.
