Is this a sign of stress?

Tas Aug 25, 2006 09:04 AM

She is a Red Pastel x Flaming Tiger and I always thought that the pattern on her belly was the reason she was called a Tiger. But during a later post there was talk to dark lines on the belly as stress. So I have to ask is this stress or not. I also have a pastel Tiger male that shows lighter patterns on his belly, which is what backed up my thought of it being part of the "Tiger" thing. Thanks

Lines on the belly are a sure sign of stress. An unstressed dragon should have a white belly. I do believe that the Flaming Tiger description has to do with the stripes on their back. Your little one could just not be used to the environment, or cold, hungry, thirsty, parasites, etc. I would check your husbandry and make sure that everything is right. If it is, you may want to get a fecal done to check for parasites. Dragons will stress on occasion, I would worry though if it is stressed constantly.
