Hello everybody. This is my first time posting in this forum. I usually post on the Mexicana kingsnake forum because I have alot of Thayeri kings. I was able to go to the Daytona expo this past weekend, and finally bought a couple of snakes that I have wanted for years- a pair of albino Applegate gophers. These are my first attempt at "pits", and I already love them. They are far more alert, and active than my other snakes. This might sound crazy, but they even seem a little more intelligent than my other snakes. Any advice you all could give me on these guys would be greatly appreciated. Also, if any of you have some of these snakes as adults I would love to see the pictures. Thanks alot, and I look forward to talking with you guys.
Ken

I've kept Gophers (all WC) for only a short while (little over a year) and they are my favorite Pit ssp. I live in SoCal so during the warmer mos I don't use ant heating implements. Temp is kept around 77-83F in the day & lower 70's @ night. My adult San Diego gets fed every 10 days, while my sub adult female Great Basin and '06 Pacific eat every 5 days. They are very active and alert (intellegent?) snakes w/ plenty of personality. There are quite a few guys on this forum that have been keeping Gophers longer than I have, but any other specific questions you have I will be glad to try to answer.
