Sulfur eggs have hatched........

Brandon Osborne Aug 25, 2006 07:43 PM

sorry for not posting pics, but I'll get them up as soon as I can. The babies are quite interesting. Several look to be hypo with very reduced black, which was not the case with my adults when they were hatchlings. I also hatched 3 lavenders, one looking as if it could be a hybino. Here are the adults again. Pics soon to come.

thanks
Brandon Osborne

So you are saying the sulfurs you have are het for hybino (hypo and lav)?

Brandon Osborne Aug 25, 2006 09:39 PM

from the looks of it, some hatchlings have very pale heads and LOTS of speckling between the bands. My original pair were both VERY dark as hatchlings. I'll try to get some pics taken tonight or tomorrow and post them asap. Rainer, honestly I believe some of the lavenders you've produced could be hybino as well. These babies are absolutely beautiful and very very large. I incubated eggs at temps a couple of degrees lower and all babies that have hatched have been huge. The clutches have taken about a week longer than normal to pip, but it looks like it's been well worth the wait from the size of the hatchlings. Pics of hatchlings are on the way, but here's one of the female at around a year old.

Thanks
