Opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If I had $11K cash, sitting around, I would buy $9K worth of Gold, and a Ghost male and several Het Ghost females.

NON Big breeder, but answered anyway!
DO what you like and dont worry about the investment part if planned right youll do fine...
Im not a big breeder but ive been around long enough
$7500 on a breeder male het lavender albino
Rest of the money on cages, some GOOD breeder females and whatever else comes up along the way.......
Go ahead, ask Nerd how many offspring they are selling this year. NONE!
Why isn't NERD selling offspring? I thought they were one of the best breeders around.
He meant Lavender albino offspring. Most all the breeders that have these are not selling any of them. These are hot right now and will continue to be as more crosses are made.

I would invest in multiple animals that have recessive rather than co dom traits.
Be creative.
Think up your own double or triple recessives and create it yourself and give it your own personal name for both fun and profit.
Or, you could buy 110 pos hets for $100 each and play the odds.
Make sure you buy your 50% or 66% pos hets from a reputable breeder.
I'm working with a neat group of just that-50% and 66% poss het lavender albinos with some that are axanthic 66% het lavender and axanthic 50% het lavender and 100% het axanthic 50% het lavender and some that are 66% het lavender and 66% het axanthic, and 50% het lavender; 50% het axanthic and 50% het both or normal. The parents of these babies are axanthic x dh lavender axanthic; dh lavender axanthic x the same, and dh lavender axanthic x normal. My biggest hit on a poss het combination was two clutches of het albino poss het axanthic males crossed with het axanthic females. Both males proved out to be dh albino axanthic and I hatched 9 axanthics out of 15 eggs! 7 of those were females that are axanthic poss het albino that will be ready to breed next year. Stay tuned!! No guts no glory!

That makes me feel so much better about my crazy projects...all the possible stuff could get aggrivating with none resulting in homozygous offspring.
Good luck Tracy...We are all dying to see a Lavendar Snow.

Too many of you herpers are only concerned with the money. This is turning into a pretty competitive business; and I suspect those who do it for love of the animals will do far better than those who only see these animals as "investments"
If you want investment buy land!!!!!
Or you will be the next guy on here complaining about my balls dropped.Pardon the pun.If you want to enjoy reptiles buy the reptile you want to breed and like. And for gods sake don't get to many that it turns into a job!!!!! I was learned that along time ago and i still enjoy monitors boas tortises balls even if mine dropped along time ago lol.Enjoy the hobby and don't expect a big return. You will enjoy it alot more.Well it's 530 am Time to start cleaning reptiles oh did i mention don't get too many
Mike

good morning Mike. lol
I just gotta add...
Let alone all the nights they keep you awake for numerous other reasons.Emerging hatchings-Sleepwalk cleaning fests-Feedings/or rather not feedings. So you start to try standing on your head at 4:30am to try and get it to eat,(maybe if i try f/t @99F..ok how about 103F,no?..how about 107F?...Argh,i think i need a colored rat.."is that racist?"
).
ohh and...Don't get to many.
(For those of you with the hardcore addiction, take note that i am now in phase two of descent..I'm ending my second hatch season and i still want to keep everything! hehe)

LOL I guess you got too many to
How about We want to knock all our water over and not eat for a few months
or I am 1000 gr female and ithink i will go on a diet till next summer.
the best complaint about balls is I paid 10,000 last year this year someone is selling them for a thousand. So BUY WHAT YOU LIKE NOT WHAT YOU THINK YOU WILL MAKE MONEY ON UNLESS IT IS LAND>DON'T MOVE TO TENNESSE I AM GOING THERE TO GET LAND EVEYONE I KNOW FROM FLORIDA IS AND DRIVING PRICES UP SO STOP IT'S TOO COLD FOR HERPS AND I THINK ALL HERPS ARE BANNED IN TENNESEE FLORIDA IS BIGGEST IMPORT STATION FOR HERPS AND THEY RUN AROUND WILD COME HERE I HAVE LAND FOR SALE.CLOSE TO WILD BURM POPULATIONS.LOL

If you have the space & resources, go with more than one animal. Don't put your eggs all in "one basket," so to speak. Regardless of whether it's co-dom/dom animals or hets from a really b!tc#in recessive project (or maybe even a little of both), try to diversify as much as possible within your current means, especially when you take into consideration the projects that you like the most.
I don't know what your background/experience level is with ball pythons, but personally I'd be hesitant to stake anything on just one animal. Why tempt fate?
If you've bred snakes before & you're confident in your experience, then do whatever suits you. If you're not totally sure, then consider more than one critter & have fun making combos in the future.
Then again, I'm into blood pythons, so take this all with a grain of salt.
Just my perspective on the whole ball python investment "ain't no thing but a chicken wing!"
Good luck!!!!!
