Best way To drain the cage-Chamleon

bigmansm Aug 26, 2006 03:44 PM

I broke the bottom the glass piece for the cage while it was sitting in the garage, now i replaced the floor with plexiglass. I want to put one or two drain spots in the cage to collect the water instead of pooling up at the bottom.

Ideally, i wanted to put a slant at the back and let it drain backwards, but it doesn't seem possible. I know i can do a traditional drainage setup with a hole in the middle of the floor, my question about this is; How do you get the water to collect or flow to the middle, in order to make sure there is no sitting water?

I would like to see some pictures to help make things clearer but i am open to suggestions

How are you going to make the drain, PVC etc?

I would just make the opening for the drain as close as possible to "Flush" from the inside. Than you could just use some gravel on the bottom the water will fill and flow out. This is of course unless you figure something else out. Any traditional carpent could be used over the gravel.

Or you could just get a second piece of Plexy and place it around the drain siliconing the gap between it and the drain.

Good Luck
