Rotten Toe?!?!?!

chachacha Aug 26, 2006 05:06 PM

This is so weird! I've never seen this before - can anybody tell me what it might be? I was holding my oliver today when I noticed that one of his toes is all black and smaller then the rest. He's been a healthy gecko ever since we got him and has had no problems so far. Is this a disease or what? He's living with one of our females right now. Could she maybe have bit it while mating or something? Thanks in advance!

Could have been constricted during shedding or bit during a fight. It will eventually fall off and he/she will go about as normal. I have over 200-250 crested all the time and have seen it a few times when I had a humidity problem. Since I have fixed that I havent seen it any more. Once its gone it wont bother you any more either as far as looks its so small it will be hard to notice.
