Ok... some tecchie questions

Nightflight Aug 26, 2006 10:37 PM

I hear that leopard geckos are frequently use in the laboratory yet I've only found a small number of studies, mostly republished by folks in the breeding business.

I'm curious how many chromosomes leopard geckos have and if there's been any attempt at mapping visible traits to a specific chromosome?

Maybe you should email Ron Tremper, you can get his email address off his website www.leopardgecko.com. He is considered the worlds leo expert and he is a herptologist so he would know about any studies you might be intrested in.

Thanks! Good idea

I know his reputation from his books (bought the Herpetoculture of Leopard Geckos)and just about everyone else out there. They all say good things too.

I've learned a whole bunch from his books already. Sometimes conflicts with what's stated on these threads but then there's no "armchair expert" filter one can apply to posts on the internet.
