Lavender Phase Albino Granites! Amazing!

HighEndHerpsnc Aug 26, 2006 11:57 PM

Here's one of our amazing lavender phase albino granites next to a "classic" white phase albino granite. These are the first and only true lavender phase albino burmese anywhere.

Our lavender phase albino granites are now over 4 months old, 3 feet long and most have shed 7 or more times. Not only is the lavender holding but it is actually increasing with each shed! We will be producing more of these next year/season and the following year we are shooting also for full purple phase albino granites and other albino morph phases.

The first picture was taken with a flash. The second was taken with no flash so it's a tad blurry but I figured it was relevant.

Hope y'all enjoy now!

Yeah, these guys are nothing short of amazing. Like everyone else early on I wasn't sure if this lavender (almost purple) background color would remain or if it would fade out with growth, age and shedding. I too have seen many many light lavender babies that fade out with a few sheds to eventually become classically white. So I held my breath every time these little beauties went into shed. But low and behold, they actually darkened into a deeper lavender as each shed peeled off. Some are nearly light purple. They may continue to darken, they may not, but one thing is certain, the lavender is here to stay and I reckon we have the "next thing" in albino granites. Undoubtedly this resulted from our stringent outbreeding measures over the years. Now we're fixing to line breed these back to each other (i know, i know, not something we usually do but we feel it is necesary this time) so as to see just how far it will go. We feel if we can establish a line of albino granites (as well as labys, greens, patternless, etc) that throw whites, lavenders and purples all in one clutch that it will add some excitement to the otherwise almost stagnant burmese morph market. It appears that this gene may be similar if not identical to the albino retic T-Plus gene that produces these color varieties. Naturally it will take a couple of years to establish this. Needless to say we're very excited about this project.

I would prefer "Morph Master".

jk, all the real credit goes to the snakes. I just feed them, cycle them and put 'em together. All the rest is AAAAALLLLLLL them.

Well..... I help with incubation a tad, lol. Though we all know they are fully capable of doing that well too.

HA HA HA..... Good one!

Son, that is about the funniest thing I think I have ever read and it started my day in a good way. I think that is about the first time I have actually "laughed out loud" (LOL) at a post.

I wonder what a lavender albino granite bred to a 5% more orange hybrid would yield. Maybe 5% more tourquoise or a 5% more aqua-marine offspring. Man, that outta be worth at least.........what......

....... 5% more.....

Should at least be 5% more interesting.

Don't you think?

Enough anyway that I could move 5% of the company in stock options.

Boy oh boy, then I would have to post weekly updates fo sho, as the aqua-marine and/or tourquoise increase at an incredibly miniscule pace.

Take care of those boas of yours.

...thought you might like that!...got me a new baby shes an 06' "firebelly" x pastel boa,ive never heard of the cross and it sounded interesting so i bought her(i dont have any pics yet)but shes only a few months old and already has a nice pink color to her sides and belly and very clean...her first few dorsal blotches are spaced far apart like the firebellies ive seen....might make a good breeding partner for my hi pink male....or an orange sunkist lol (we will talk about that once you get some little ones)
