I'm mainly a kingsnake guy, but I thought I'd share this little picture. My son found this hatchling yesterday at a construction site in North Carolina! Even my wife said he/she was pretty (a rare comment from her after living with snakes that she doesn't care for, for 22 years, lol). . .
Hoping to get some better pics from the wife soon (I'm currently overseas myself, so I'll have to wait!)

Wow! Stunning animal. Your son found a treasure! I would love to see pics of it as it is getting older.

Thanks. Not sure yet exactly what we'll be doing wit him. My wife will see if she can convert him to eat pinkies, so she can keep him fed ALL YEAR! (Toads are hard to find in the winter here)

....have you considered keeping him on toads, and brumating him?that keeps you from having to find toads in the winter.i also know of easterns eating f/t toads-in fact not uncommon at all-so you can feed him year round.i know of guys that have kept platyrhinos in captivity for well over ten years with this technique.as you know those are really succeptible to premature death due to fatty liver disease from eating rodents.are you definitely keeping him/her?you could also relocate it...

Thats a super nice eastern hog!!! That animal is going to be a screamer when he gets bigger!!! You don't find many that look like that anymore it seems like. I've got a c.b. 06 red eastern hog thats already eating f/t rat pinks once a week. I would keep that snake! Kevin Fisher

Wow! Beautiful. As it grows is it going to turn more like the one cochran pictured?
