My new Ceratophyrs cornutas, they both appear to be males, but their heads are shaped differently. Could one be a subspecies of them? Or is it possible that one is Ceratophrys aurita? They were wild caught. Or are they just that varible in shape?

Both are cornuta. They can have diff. profiles...most frogs aren't identical. Pretty standard looking, but both look identical to mine. Good luck with them. All I have to say is good luck...Keep a VERY close eye on them and keep them only on papertowels in a warm quiet spot for even 3-6 months. Mine went downhill VERY quickly. Also, do NOT forcefeed if they will not eat on their own. Andy

The guy I got them from said he had them for 4 or 5 months and that they were both eating, but he had them together so I think the fatter one was getting all of the food. He said he had the eating 5 week old crickets, but he had to leave the room before they would eat. The one was refusing to eat anything, so I put some baby bullfrogs in there for him to eat, and he ate them. I wasn't gonna sit and watch him starve to death, but he's not getting anymore frogs unless it's a last resort. I'm gonna try to get him on nightcrawlers here in a couple days, and see if he'll take those. Other than that they are happy healthy horned frogs.
