Hi
snake special tonight at 8pm Pbs/Wnet ch
favorite part was when the narrator was explaining what snakes evolved from and they showed a big arse komodo kickin up dust then they show a komodo family feasting on a carcass, gotta love monster monitors! what was your favorite part?
The one thing that sticks out in my mind was the removal of the black mamba in the little hut in Africa. I just liked how the Park Ranger kept telling the cameraman to stay back, as if the cameraman REALLY did not understand what they were up against.
I watched it at 3am (off the DVR) when I got home from work, so I dont exactly remember too much of it. It was a decent show though.

Yeah that was cool! How seein Old Bill messin around with the venomous, i always liked that guy even tho he's not very safty conscious.
How about the guy going down the tunnel to grab the rock python? The snake wouldn't bother me it would be the heat and the small, confined space that would creep me out!
Oh and that stupid old dude from Alabama that has spent his life hunting and killing rattlesnakes. And I can't believe that rattlesnake roundups are still legal in 2006. And yet you can't keep an albino cornsnake in GA. Go figure.
I'd be afraid of gettin an ardvark mad it me they have extremely large claws.
And as for that old alabama coot somebody ought to feed him to a gator.
>>And as for that old alabama coot somebody ought to feed him to a gator.
That's too good for him. I'd prefer to see him crushed and swallowed by a honking big Python sebae.
I really dug the wildlife guy getting that mamba! He definitely has it going on. And that wasn't one of those nose-rubbed, LTC, borrowed zoo snakes that that punk Steve Austin is always "finding" at the last minute. My impression was that that was not a staged capture, al la Austin, Irwin, and Corwin. I got the distinct feeling that guy was very much aware of the snakes potential, but that he wasn't sweating bullets, like Steve-o did.
Watching that old Snake Charmer get tagged on the finger by the cobra led me to belive it must have been a venomoid.
All in all a great show, with lots of excellent footage. A little fast and loose with some facts and generalizations, but wadda ya gonna do?

showman BUT 80,000,000, viewers can't be all wrong, I like the guy, when his venomous handlers get tagged then they have to shovel the dung, i don't really know,LOL!!!but i do know he's been messin with salties ever since he was a young boy. I dig it when he's mowin the lawn and the big salty comes flying out of the water and attacks the lawn mower.

LOL - Yeah I liked that too! Have you seen the leucistic salty he's got now?
OK, Steve-O gets croc-props.
Remember the Africa show he did? He was tailing a Black Mamba and almost got tagged. He also tried to tail a Rock Python and had to give it up. That was one irate python, and Steve-O had to give it up.

I'm out of touch with Animal Planet, bummer.
How about the episode when the huge Komodo chased him up a tree?
Or the one where him and his dog jump out of the moving 4X4 and catch and hogtie a pig for croc bait?
>>How about the episode when the huge Komodo chased him up a tree?
Yeah! It got a piece of his boot! Wonder why it wasn't interested in the cameraman?
>>Or the one where him and his dog jump out of the moving 4X4 and catch and hogtie a pig for croc bait?
Oh Boy! Pig wrasslin'! Hot Damn!
Yeah, that's something alright.
OK - Steve-O is pretty cool. I'll give him props for his headlong approach. Plus, I would love to meet his crocs.

I am in shock.
Losing Steve Irwin is awful.
I sincerely appologize to Steve, his family, and my fellow forum mates for my tone in this thread.
I have the utmost respect for what he accomplished for reptiles in today's world.
Steve: Yes, you did have Cahones of Iron.
Respectfully,
John D.
