Bairds rat snakes are great rat snakes.
The general care for bairds rat snakes is fairly simple.
They are prety active so they do great in display tanks.
Provide a climbing branch or platform to allow for more exercise oportunities.
They need a temperature gradient in the tank.
I prefer to keep the warm side in the low 80's and the cool side in mid to low 70's.
Provide a hide on both sides.
Provide a water bowl large enough for them to fit in if they want or need to soak.
I use a dog water bowl with the openings on the side to double as a hide (cool side)
moderate humidity.
I prefer aspen shavings as a substrate but you can use paper towels or newspaper, they just don't look worth a crap in a display tank.
Stay away from sand or airomatic substrates like pine or cedar.
As you now know bairdis are beautiful snakes and with regular handling can be puppy dog tame.
post pics when you get a chance.
enjoy
