Yellow Jacket Ball Python

Outback_Reptiles Aug 28, 2006 11:02 AM

These are pictures of a Yellow Jacket Ball Python hatched out here a few weeks ago. I have hatched three of these animals out from two different breedings and all of them look identical. The male that produced these animals was hatched within a clutch of Pastels three years ago. His mother, as it turns out was something special. He is not just an unusual Pastel. His offspring from a normal breeding and a Pastel breeding have been: Yellow Jackets, Pastels, Super Pastels, normals, and the secret gene carrier.

Thanks,
Ian Gniazdowski

there is some confusion surrounding it. Also, Is this a combination with a pastel-or it's own thing? Thanks, Tracy

Tracy I see you and Neil have not worked out the Pastel-Spotnose naming issue yet. Good luck on that. But on my end there is absolutely NO confusion regarding the name. I have had this mutation named for over three years and stand behind it. As far as the gentics involved, my feeling is that it is a Pastel combination. Although I produced no Pastels in my Yellow Jacket to Normal breeding. It was a small clutch of four and I think I just missed.

Looks sweet Ian.
See you at White Plains.

Similar to yours.
My pastel male is of your line, originally purchased from Jack of designer snakes.
last year this popped out and he is getting bigger/better every day.
Let me know what you think!
Thanks,
Evan

Evan that is a nice Pastel that you posted but it is just a Pastel. The Yellow Jackets show a solid, uniform, deep yellow pattern throughout the body. There is no change of color. They are yellow and black. They also have an unusual black belly pattern.

So far, this pastel is more yellow then any pastel I have EVER seen.
And it is pretty much only yellow and black.
Not too much blushing.

Could you show us a picture of that belly pattern you are talking about?

Thanks David
