Dwarf Chameleons

ritt Aug 28, 2006 04:00 PM

Hey All,
I'm currently looking into getting a small group of Rhampholeon (probably spectrum) and have a question about substrate and breeding. If you use peat moss as a substrate covered with leaf litter as a substrate how do you find the eggs, and if you only put in a small container of peat for the eggs, what do you use as substrate besides leaf litter and moss.
Thanks!

If you are new to leaf chameleons then I suggest brevs or temporalis – they are easier to work with and more gratifying.

Check this article out for enclosure ideas.

When it comes to eggs, I either catch them in the act (mid mornings) or I go looking for them – typically towards the back of the enclosure. Once a laying site is chosen, it’s usually used over and over again which makes finding eggs easier.
