I have a question for you all...I'm a huge tegu fan. I have a femal red that's eating me out of house and home by the way... But I was just wondering. How do you people all have so many? I see that half of you have like 4 or more. I mean I'm 17 and therefore have no expenses or anything and I just can't see myself sealing with more than just the one. I mean I also have 2 blue tongues but still....how do you manage with 4?????

its because its like a drug once your hooked u cant stop and no iam not a druggy i have so many because i love their personality and that their crazy like their daddy i hope that anwser your qeustion

There is nothing wrong with one. You are right to consider cost: feeding, vet bills, housing, etc, etc, etc. Depending on your budget it may be more responsible to have one and keep it correctly than to have many and not be able to keep them like you should. Main thing is enjoy the hobby.

Well, there is always the initial up front cost (the reptile itself, cage, etc) but in all actuality, they get cheaper to feed with age. Once they are adults, you will feed them less. I'll be getting my 3rd lizard this week or next (I already have a Argentine B&W and a savannah monitor and will be getting a red tegu as soon as they hatch)
