WOW! very nice congrat's on that one
.What speices is he/she ? to your knowledge is he/she pure.Do you have any pictures of the proud parents
?.You just need to prove the genetics now(back breed one generation to either one of the parents or a sibling)once proven then you can start out breeding hopfully it's a male as you can put it to more females and they will not be so closely related and you can get a better gene pool.Good luck with your project
.
Thanks for the nice replies.
The adults where sold to me as pure bred Northerns (intermedia) but although I have no proof of that, I have strong suggestions they might be hybrids.
The trade is surely genetic (just don't know how) as I know of another 3 animals that were born from sibblings of my breeding pair.
In terms of making this a project; I am not particularly interested in morph-breeding (I'd rather use the space for other interesting species see). The animal, and its family are therefore for sale.

By the look of the siblings i'm 90% happy saying they are Easterns bts (tiliqua scincoides scincoides).leaveing 10% if they are hybrids with the clean fount legs i'd say they are Northern/Eastern intergrades at most but these are usually mark down as easterns any as where these two speices over lap it's beleave that these two do sometime intergrade in the wild anyway.
Any chance of a picture of two of the parents ?.
Hmm, I've seen the mothers of my breeding pair (they have different moms, same father) and they were 100% Northerns, no doubt.
It is the father I have my doubts about. This animal was an almost white animal, of course making it difficult to check for markings and such. Others are convinced the father might be Irian Jaya. I truly don't know anymore. Fact remains that I would like these animals to become a seperate "morph"-lineage remaining apart from any pure bred species.
Don't have a pic of my female available right now. This however is the male:

I surpose we'll never be 100% with out knowing the ins and outs of the history but they don't half look eastern bts to me.I'm baseing this mainly on the fact that dad and all the babys have very clean fount legs.If there was any Irain java in them i would expect some of the offsping to have typical Irain java fount legs (strongly marked).
Not personly but i've seen whiteness in both Eastern bts and Northern bts so it not totally out the question.I beleave you have tannie's so you know what they look like in the flesh but any chance of the whiteish male being a tannie ? would explane the clean found legs and the very northern/eastern apperances ?.
It would be real nice to see a picture of the mum to the babys if it can be done
.
Yes I do have Tanimbars as well (Just guessing how you know that..
)
I have once seen a picture of the original father, it is impossible that this was a Tanimbar. It was a quite large animal, and totally differently built. With the animal being mostly white it was however impossible to tell what species it was, as you need markings for that....
I will post some pics of mom soon, she looks a lot like the male, but somewhat lighter and with no dark markings on the side.

Aha, Vicky and Toby, that explains it! (And yes, it's a small world after all....)
Tanny??? are you nutz? anyone who keeps tanny's would know not to interbreed.
I think that animal is just a product of improper interbreeding of the species.
