The Real Copper Head Ball

allexotics101 Aug 28, 2006 08:08 PM

OK,
Heres the deal. These are the real deals! We got these beauties straight from Africa. Pic one is the COPPER HEAD BALL on eggs. As you can see she is an awesome double morph combo. Pic two is a W/C male we just got from Africa. We paid big bucks for him! Appaently he is worth alot of money over there. We hope to cross these two and get nickel balls, then dimes, and quarters. Look at the copper color on his head, its outta this world. These pics do them no justice, you have to see them in person. BTW the female has a nasty bite.

Just havin some fun.

You guys really need to get a REAL hobby instead of poking fun at people. I am a really nice person(just wish my cam was better). I am deeply hurt by this as I know it was directed towards MY post. Let me ask you this? Is SILVER eyes a "NORMAL" trait in BP's? I think not! No wonder so many people are becoming Anti-Kingsnake.com. I used to love to come in here and chat about reptiles, but I have seen so many people bash others in here now that unless you are a Big Timer or a very lucky breeder, you WILL get bashed around in here. This is NOT what this hobby is about. And, The way some people in here treat Newcomers to the hobby that ask what would seem like common sense Questions or seem stupid to us, just discusts me. The people who are insulting or just plain old RUDE to the newcomers should be banned in my opinion. This hobby NEEDS newcomers to keep it alive! And, by treating people in a rude or offending way, the people whom choose to act like school bullies(rather than reptile experts...as we all should act if we have the knowledge) will scare off potential newbies to this hobby. I have seen alot of this in the past few months. Try to remember this OLD saying.....If you can not say something nice, do not say anything at all.

PS I guess my 100% Het Albino Male and My Granite females are just plain normals to some of you. Lets see what you jokers think when I produce a Snake with Silver eyes, a Ghost looking head, and mix some pastel just for good measure. Also I have a Prfessional Photographer taking pics this week. Anyone who'd like to see quality pics of my male with the carmel colored head(BTW his name is Sublime). I will post them, but please be polite and trust me in saying...when you see the Pro's photos, you'll be surprised at what he really looks like.

I'm sorry your feelings are hurt but... So many people post normals and try to push them off as something, it gets comical. The pics you posted looked like a normal. Post good pics and a good discription and make us eat crow. I hope no one really meant to hurt you.

It's not a problem, but I see alot of bashing in here to people whom do not deserve it. Perhaps I did, being as my pics with my cheap little digi cam SUCK rocks!LOL. I hope I get my SLR cam for Xmas so I can take professional photos. I hate having a crappy camera. I can get better photos from a disposable. I will post the new photos of my animals when the photographer is out. She's going to be out I think on Wensday. She does some awesome work. She has even been invited to do some National Geographic stuff, but she turned them down(crazy lady!). Post them Thursday.

Here's a nice little Normal Female I picked up the other day. Awesome head pattern don't you think? I hope to breed her to a pastel.

BTW cool photoshopping! I wish that snake WAS real.LOL. I love copperhead, but cannot do the Hots until my kids are all grown up and moved away(that will be the day !)

It was all in good fun. No hard feelings. If we cant joke around here, within our hobby, where can we do it? I agree with some other posts, everyone has morphs! LOL without proving them. Everyone is naming something, without taking years of proving them out. As I recall, when someone finds a "New Morph" they keep it secret until they can prove them out. Its ok to show your snakes, but you should know what genetics you are dealing with before naming it. Unless you have an obvious variation, like a butter, platty daddy, or something truely visual, you should not name it, and you should not yipe it up as a new morph. It ruins your credibility. I hope your feelings are not hurt, that was not our intention. Even if your pictures were better, you are asking an entire forum community to validate your claim to fame with a new variety of ball that looks totally normal. As a breeder, I have several "New Morph Projects" that I have years vested in, but I will not disclose to the public what they are until I know for sure. Take the big guys as an example; RDR's Phantom - in the works for at least 4 years, GCR and Cypress Creek - Vanilla and Lightning in the works for at least 5 years, Ian and his new Yellow Jacket, Amir with his mocha, etc. Your snakes are beautiful, but until you prove them out, they are just normals. Just have fun with this hobby, try to make some babies, cross your fingers, and if you can make money with what you have, it makes the hobby that much sweeter. If you put yourself out there to possible criticism, and even a bit of sarcasm, then you should be able to roll with the punches. Dont take things too personal, at the end of the day, we should just have fun with it. Hope your projects are successful, and take this as newbie hazing from some old timers! LOL.

A camera is only as good as the photographer using it. Buying an expensive camera does not mean you'll automatically take professional photos. Professionals take professional photos. Amatures take amature photos, no matter what camera they're using.

I've gotten fantastic pictures out of point-and-shoots, disposables, cheap ol' digital cameras, as well as digital SLR's. I've taken much better pictures on my ol' Sony Handicam than I have with my SLR. I've take fantastic pictures with my SLR. It's not the camera that makes the photographer.

I think the problem is you played your new Ball up to be the next new Pied, when your pics are worse than mine, and what they show is a pretty normal looking Ball. Instead of pointing fingers, you might want to rethink your unveiling process next time, and use a bit less fanfare.
