cage setup help

vegetell May 20, 2003 11:20 AM

ok i figured out what i need but i was thinking its pretty big i could split in two for a female/male. im going with panthars or veild. the cage dimensions are 5 feet long by 2 feet wide by 4 feet tall. there is two screen/wood doors that make up the front and no top yet and screen on the side its an amazing looking custom cage and i think i could but a screen or thin wood divider in there so i could keep a male and a female. do you guys think that is possiable of isnt that cage big enough for two. im not to sure on the cages height ill have to measure it. i forgot what it was exactly bit its around 4. thanks for your help.

I would house one male in there. Cages can never be too big IMO, and your chams can move from different temp and humidity gradients more easily. Just be sure the two can't see each other all the time, OK?

Hi-

The bigger the cage the better, but yes if you could divide the cage into two, with a wood divider so the two chameleons could not see each other there will be no problem. If you do decide to have male and female, make sure you buy the chameleons from a breeder that has 2 or more unrelated bloodlines, and that the male and female you buy are not related (brother and sister). Or buy them from two diffrent breeders. Hope this helps!
