Will silly snake be ok?

LizardMom Aug 30, 2006 03:11 AM

My silly baby ball just ate his mouse sideways. Grabbed it by the spine and folded it in half and stuffed the whole thing into his mouth.

At first it looked like it was too big to go down, but he's got all but the tail passed the narrow part of his throat, but now it's not moving any farther down. Will he be ok?

He's my first ball, but I've got other snakes and none of them, even the newly hatched tried this trick.

Should be fine. I've had many snakes eat mice sideways and backwards with no ill effects.

Many thanks for the reassurance.

Now that he seems to be doing fine it's just funny, that stretched out mouthful of mouse, but at the time I worried.

He's a great little snake, and I always worry about the babies until they're well established.
