in other words is it recessive or just a selectively bred trait...

Not recessive, won't produce hets.
I'm not sure if Mosaic x Mosaic = 100% Mosaics, or mostly Mosaics like some aberrancies.

I was going to buy a female mosaic a little while ago but decided not to. Nice looking snakes... A little different, which is always good.
