"remember to feed them away from their cage"
Why?
To take a ball python from it's enclosure and offer it food is incorrect husbandry imho.
For one...Those that think this will diminish the initial striking behavior they have...are attemting to dispense with YEARS of imprinted behavior from evolution(or rather "natural selection" actually)...These animals are ambushers. In the wild they sit for extremely long amounts of time for potential prey to come along.
Secondly...They are very shy animals in comparison to other species of snakes...They prefer to eat from the safety of their den...That isn't to say they won't eat outside of it,but many will not.
So do as you will...but i have quite a few plump females sitting around just itching to throw me some more good eggs this year....They are the product of being left alone,to eat in peace.
Good luck
