jurassic milk

Whereisalice Aug 30, 2006 10:31 PM

I'm trying to learn about genetics and reading everything I can, but have a question I haven't seen addressed.

I have a jurassic milk (L.g.cali X L.g.floridana X L.t.hondurensis) and wondered what I'd get if I bred her with another of the same? Would the offspring just resemble the parents? Mine is anery, but I'd cross her with a "normal" so I think the babies would be het for anery, but other than that, not sure what they'd be.

Thanks for your help. The pic is her as a hatchling, she's well over 200 grams now.

there is a lot of variability in jurassic milks due to the crosses involved. This is the "fun" part of breeding hybrids, you never know what you'll get in the offspring. It also depends on the hets of the "normal" jurassic that you use for breeding. I have seen hypos and snow jurassics, etc. Some jurassics are marked like yours, some are more evenly "banded", some are striped, and some have crazy mixed up patterns. You really won't know what you'll get until you breed your snakes. Good luck and have fun!
