Orange/rust pastel hatchlings grow up

jmartin104 Aug 31, 2006 10:30 AM

to be what color? I have a very orange/rust colored hatchling. His litter mates are normal light pastel colored. Anyone have a pic of an adult that was orange/rust as a hatchling? BTW, father is nice and light normal pastel.

I don't mean to sound pessimistic, and take this with a grain of salt because I've not yet raised one myself, but a lot of people say the orange color on a pastel usually is what browns out as it reaches adulthood. I had a male pastel recently that was very grayish and brownish, and I'm only assuming that he was probably fairly orange as a hatchling based on what I've read. I actually kinda liked the way he looked, as it was such a sharp contrast from my male and female Lemons. To each his own. Any pics of your little guy?
