sitting with mouth open

Blood3319 Aug 31, 2006 12:09 PM

I thought I read somewhere that if your ig was sitting with his mouth open it meant he was dehighdrated, it that true ? I just noticed my baby ig doin that 2day that fist time it look like a yawn he opened it wide slowly then closed it. The second time about a min later he just keep it open a lil. I dont know how he would be dehighdrated I soak his greens before I feed him, same with when I give him some pelets, would a bath help him right now ?

Thanks

It could also mean gapping (forgive spelling. Check cage temps to make sure it is not too hot.

I am not going to spout medical advice since I am not qualified but be real careful, it can be a sign of a respitory infection.

He should get bathed on a regular basis anyway.
