Honduran Info?

extreme_bci Aug 31, 2006 01:51 PM

Ok I'm picking up a pair of Tangerine Hondurans 100% het for albinos in afew days. Now when I breed them I know I will get some Tangerines, and Albino Tangerines. But will I get any tri-coloers or any tri-coloer albinos?

Is Tangerine recessive, or Dominant trait?

Any and all info will help.

Thanks, Josh

Josh,

You may get both tangerine albinos and tricolor albinos, or you may just get tangerine albinos or you may just get tricolor albinos. Statistically, there are less tangerine albinos than there are tricolor albinos produced ... it all depends on what genes those 2 snakes carry. Even if their parents are tangerine lines, they may have some tricolor family lineage 2 or 3 generations ago that still might produce that gene later on.

So, the fun is when you breed them. Good luck to you.

Thanks for the info.

And also the guy I'm getting the pair from said that they are Tangerine 100% het for Tangerine albino.

You can't make a guarantee that they'll produce tangerine albino offspring. You can make the statement that they're 100% het for albino - but that's it. Tri-colors can and do come out of tangerine x tangerine breedings. Here is a tri-color I produced from breeding a tangerine hypo to a tangerine normal:
