Thanks Phil. There's nothing quite like the power of a common king in action. Someone further down below posted a few additional pics of that black king and copperhead. In some of those pics you can see a few pools of blood where the black king is absolutely destroying the copperhead.

The very first Eastern Kingsnake that I ever caught was a huge 5' male that was in the middle of putting the smack down on a 4' cottonmouth on the edge of a drainage canal. I watched the battle until he started downing the cottonmouth and then picked up the whole ball and took him home. He didn't regurge luckily but I could never get him to switch to rodents. He downed two WC green snakes and a WC garter and then I let him go.
