What kind of toad is this?

msalem Aug 31, 2006 08:37 PM

Hi,

I found this toad in my garage and I don't know what species of toad it is so I really don't know how to care for it while I find it a good home. I breed ball pythons so I know little of caring for a toad. I have him in a tank right now with a bowl of water that he/she can fit in but I don't know what to feed it but will try crickets. Any help like what and how often to feed it or even just the species so I can google it will be very much appreciated, thanks!

I think it's a Fowler's Toad.

The greenish tint sugjests a fowler's toad. Just be shure he has clean water and tasty crickets

I think it's a Fowler's Toad also. Does it have a cream colored belly with one dark spot near its chest? If so, it is definitely a Fowler's.

I keep several different species of toads. A 10gal w/ some eco earth for substrate kept between the low 60's to mid 70's oughta be fine. Feed every other day. Vitamin supplement food once a week to once every 2 weeks. Clean water bowl daily. Clean his tank once a month. Your toad should be great. Did I miss anything?
