i know that bloods are well known for their ability to go forever without defecating, but what is the usual if any cutoff time between it just being a blood normality and being a health issue needing to be treated?

I would say if you haven't seen anything in the last three months its time to check the animal out. Unless the area towards the vent looks like its making the animal uncomfortable, there typically isn't anything to worry about. The best thing to do is soak the animal alot especially around when they are going into shed as this is a prime time to take a dump! If it does look like the animal is in an uncomfortable situation you might want to seek veteranary assistance if your not familiar with how to treat these situations.

Hey,
I agree with Jordan, if you have not noticed a bowel movement in months, then it is time for a check up. Soaking usually keeps my animals pretty regular so I would imagine that it would do the same for yours. Not that they go every week, but at least every few weeks pretty regularly. Especially during a shed or just after.

And if you choose to "assist" them, make sure you're in a bath tub and wearing cloths you don't like so much.
ok I guess I do have somewhat of an issue then since mine hasnt gone in like 3-4 months. see when you all kept saying "a long time" i thought thats what you meant. a long time. oh well I guess its bath time. nothing new there.
