If I defrost a small pinkie and set in in the cage, how long can it stay out before it goes bad?

Most times my corn will get it right away, but occasionally I find it where I placed it the next morning. Can I leave it there or should I toss it out?

I USUALLY leave them out over night with a snake and then throw them out...
