we bought 2 ball pythons, and they have been seperated. we recently combined them because one of the tanks broke. now they are acting weird, and i saw their tails were wrapped around eachother. it looks like the pictures i've seen, but i don't have any clue what to do if they are mating or what to do when she lays eggs. any info would be appreciated. thank you

There is a possibility that they were breeding. I don't know much about the breeding process myself, and I just ended up with five eggs. Have they been probed? It could save you a lot of worry. If not, separate them and begin doing tons of research. If she lays eggs, candle them and look for blood vessels. If there are none, then you have infertile eggs and could save you some trouble. If you have a local zoo, try and speak with the reptile department, that's what I did. Decide if you want to do maternial incubation or not. To hatch yourself, you will need to mix vermiculite (1 part) with water (2 part) and incubate at 86 to 90 degrees. Humidity should be 60-70%. Incubation takes from 60-80 days in an incubator with controlled conditions and up to 105 days wtih more natural conditions. Good luck.
