Normal Corn?

toad112081 Sep 01, 2006 03:13 PM

I just wanted to post a couple of pics of Jasmine (yearling) and get some opinions on if she is a normal, okeetee, etc. I bought her a while ago for my daughter as her first snake and she loves her. The gentleman I bought her from was a private breeder and Jasmine's parents looked closest to the "Sunkissed" picture on Kathy Love's site. Anyways just let me know what you think!!

I'm pretty sure that's a hypo. "Sunkissed" is hypo Okeetee phase and the colors aren't intense enough for it to be called Okeetee or hypo Okeetee. Hypomelanism is quite variable, with some hypos almost looking like normal corns and others looking almost like dark-eyed albinos.

That is an absolutely amazing snake. I stared at it for a full five minutes. I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Congrats!!

Without knowing the animals background, whether or not it is an "okeetee" is up to the eye of the beholder. I have a male corn who's parents are right off the Okeetee Hunt Club who looks similar to yours

I'm sure there are plenty of folks who'd say at first glance "That's not be an Okeetee." I don't how much more "Okeetee" it needs to be one, and it is one as far as I'm concerned, but everyone has a "minds eye" view and certain qualifications that an animal has to have to be "Okeetee". JMHO unless you get some background on the parents I'd call it a normal, and a real pretty one at that

As far as it being a sunkissed, here's a pic of one of Kathy Love's Sunkissed breeder males I took at the NARBC show in Chicago last year

Nice pics! The picture of Kathy's sunkissed looks just like the daddy of mine. I'll just have to wait and see. I do agree with you about her being beautiful regardless of what she may be. Thanks again!!
