"Excessive" shedding - Fat Tail Gecko...

calgecko Sep 01, 2006 07:08 PM

I know someone with a FT Gecko, it's a 3 year old male, and she said that recently, it's been shedding a LOT more frequently than normal.. about once a month.. is this unusual? If so, what may be a cause? Anything to look out for?

Thanks!

My day geckos all shed about once a month (every 3 weeks or so). They are all very healthy and eat like crazy. I think that is why, they are constantly growing. I don't think that excessive shedding is a bad thing. If anything, its a good indicator as to whether the animal is doing well.

That is pretty normal for a fat tail gecko.
