It is helpful to grind-up the cat/dog chow. The more variety you give, the better. I put a link to one of my postings; hopefully, it will help you out. Make sure the fruit/vegs are changed out before getting moldy or degraded by bacteria/fungus. Depending on the species of roach, you can tailor your protein, carb & fat ratio to get good production.

Also, what generally works for crickets will also work for roaches. Roaches are: hardier, cleaner & don't make noise.

Maybe some roach connoisseurs can add to this.

This is the blend I used for all my roaches (peppered, egyptian deserts, orangeheads, cubans, and dubias).

Roaches are offered fresh fruits [apple, banana, orange], strawberries, greens [turnip, collard, mustard], zucchini and other scraps.

STANDARD BLEND
5 parts Layena unmedicated chick mash (feed store)
2 parts honey nut toasted oats (grocery store)
1 part mixed baby cereal (grocery store)
1 part calcium fortified corn flakes (grocery store)
1 part tropical fish flake containing spirulina (pet store)
