Two of my Emeralds - one is an adult male one is a young adult female both exhibit a "swelling" in their lower jaw/neck when disturbed/agitated - almost looks like its fluid filled - and its done when they inhale. All looks normal upon exhaling. When resting I haven't witnessed this though its impossible to see their lower jaw region when at rest.
The adult male had a UR episode 4 mos. ago which was successfully treated and did feed tonight(has also fed earlier as well).
Is this a "bluff" display? I was concerned it might be a residual effect of the UR though the smaller female has not gone through anything like that.
Neither animal has exhibited any other signs of resppiratory distress whatsoever.
Thanks in advance,
Bill
