Supplements For Snakes

Rivets55 Sep 02, 2006 02:29 PM

A post about a boa with a digestion problem made me curious.

There are several nutitional supplements commercially available for reptiles. Are any of these effective for snakes?

For example, Nutribac is sold as a digestive supplemnt for herbivorous reptiles such as Iguanas. Is it useful to give this supplement to snakes?

Any experience anyone has with the use and effectiveness of nutritional supplements in keeping snakes healthy would be great to hear.

Thanks,

John D

I've heard that garter snakes that are fed nothing but feeder goldfish can develop problem, and that their diet should be supplemented with minnows and tadpoles from a fishing bait shop.
