How Long Does It Take for Them to Grow?

Paradon Sep 02, 2006 09:40 PM

I've had my oldest gecko for almost 6 months now and it isn't quite full grown yet. How long does it take for them to get to adult size? The oldest one was only a little over 2 inch when I got it; the patternless was a little over 3 inch, and the albino was a little over 3 inch, also. I didn't get them at the same time. I got the one that was 2 inch, I think, in spring and she is the biggest one right now; and the other ones in the summer June, I think.

It depends largely on the care, quality of food, and temperature it receives. The book says somewhere between 9 and 18 months I believe. You'll know because their eating habits will suddenly change as they move from eating to grow to eating to sustain which is much, much less. Our current female leo grew at what we thought was light speed and reached at 8 months and was something like 9 inches at that point.

Sounds like you've got some growing to do, keep feeding them, give them proper temps, and lots of vitamins and calcium, and some time and they'll be adults soon enough.
