>>hello i am new in the forums and i have had alot of exspierience for my age with reptiles and but i dont have any ball pythons yet but i am really interested in them and i am goin to try to get some asap what do i need to know about breeding and taking care of them thanks
The reason that you are probably not getting many replies is that maybe some people are turned off by the way you have asked the question.
Some people get short on patience when they see newbies rush into things only to have the BP suffer as a result of inexperienced keeper. You say that you have experience (a lot!) for your age. Some people may say that is definitely NOT enough!
Some people may want to suggest that you DO NOT get your BP ASAP. They may suggest that you learn slowly and read care sheets carefully before you ever consider even entertaining the idea of possibly maybe some day perhaps getting one.
To your credit, you are asking the question before you got the BP. However, there is such a "I am going to get one right away" tone to your voice, that maybe some people are turned off by the way you come across.
Please do a engine search on the internet at read every single care sheet there is on the BP. You will learn a lot. In Particular, pay attention to the melissa Kaplan site, the VPI site, the BOBclark site, and NERD site and Most important, read all the articles and FAQ's on Pro exotics. That last site is by far the foremost and most good site on BP and snake care anywhere on earth!
Also, you may consider gettting a video on breeding by Dave and Tracy Barker (VPI), or a video by Dan and Collette Sutherland.
(make sure you ask the forum members which video is better. For, I have seen neither).
Just a friendly post. I posted it just in case you were wondering why you didn't get any replies.
cheers. and Happy Ball Pythoning. . . which in your case, some people might say "wait a long time before you get one. Don't get one ASAP until you have learned absolutely everything you can."
Once you learn it all, you will find that there is more learning everyday. Many years from now, you will come to learn that even with the best techniques and best knowledge on how to do things, every snake will still make a liar out of you . . . because there is no set rules and you have to be flexible and have enough experience to deal with situations.
cheers.
