a few questions

goregrind Sep 04, 2006 08:12 AM

i have a baby garter and im wondering what i should feed it during the winter. ive been catching worms for it and it eats them without hesitation. i tried meal worms and worm scented mouse tails but nothing gets her goin like the movement of a worm, should i find a way of getting live worms all winter or try fish?

ps i know about the calcium issues with invertabres and freezing fish.

You can usually find worms in bait shops even in the winter time. Feeder fish isn't a bad idea. My baby garters didn't seem too interested in catching the fish, but when I held the fish up to them, they snatched it right away.

ive never seen worms for sale during the winter here (i live in vermont) but it doesnt matter now because i got it to eat two really small fish today.
